Finaly back in Cervia! After a break of one year, because of our removal, we were very happy to be part of the festival internazionale dell' aquilone again.
The way we came to Italy was new: Florian drove by car with all our kite stuff and luggage while the girls flew from Weeze (Germany) to Bologna (Italy). There Florian collected them in the evening. Then we drove to our appartment which we got from Dino, the owner of the hotel Manila.
That is really great: we don’t know any other child-friendly country like Italy.

The first saturday was dominated by rain. Starting on sunday the sun was shining more and more and we had a fantastic first week. All the time there was light wind from the sea, as we love it in Cervia.
Florian’s project: Like 2011 he tried to fly every day a kite, which hasn’t flown the days before. So there was a big range of kites during the 12 festival days flying: gierl roloplan, havlicek delta, white square, family kite, funky alien, le kainos, lamson aerocurve, KAP foil, Petra, KAP rokkaku, Barbapapa genki, Angel, Heart, Thermikschnüffler, Dart duck, edo „west“ und circle box train.

Our girls had a lot of fun every day, too. Lena was jumping the whole day on the bagnos trampoline and Sophie liked to play in the sand. Every morning at breakfast we asked them: „Should we go to the beach?“ And the answer was „Yes, of course!“
Our „beach family“ was very lovely. It was a lot of fun with Gaby and Jürgen Ebbinghaus and Monika and Rolf Sturm.

Even that the feeling of community get lost a little bit more and more the last years, Cervia has its own character. There is no stress at the beach, everybody enjoys life, kites and culture. It’s the same like the years before: You have to be part of the festival to understand the Cervia feeling!

We are looking forward to the next festival in 2014. Such a break of one year we don’t want to have a second time.
